#ForOurFuture (Results Canada November 2024 Call to Action)
Results Canada's call to action in November is vaccination for children worldwide. This has been the call to action for the past few months as Canada has still not taken action to help give children worldwide an equal chance at life. Living in a high-income country we already have a big headstart compared to children in many other countries. Vaccination is a need, not a want. For many children, this need is not accessible to them giving them a large disadvantage in life and a huge risk of diseases that are easily preventable with a vaccine.
We need to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Canada can play a role in helping get vaccines to everyone, and it is our duty as Canadians to advocate to our government to show them we care about the millions of children worldwide who currently have no access to vaccines. How can you advocate? Results Canada suggests to 1. set up a meeting with your MP 2. share on social media, and 3. write a letter to the editor. As an advocate, I have sent emails to my MP, shared on social media, and written articles on the subject on my website a few times these past months. These acts are important, and I believe we can all make a difference by showing we care.
The following text is the ask to Canada from Results Canada's call to action from July to November.
"The ask: We call on Canada to invest #ForOurFuture by ensuring that life-saving vaccines #ReachEveryChild. Canada must support the scale-up of existing vaccines and the access to new, exciting innovations by making a pledge of at least CAD$ 720 million to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance’s 2026-2030 Strategy." (Results Canada, 2024)
